The Stuart Beam is a relatively simple engine to construct. The use of Watts parallel motion makes this engine fascinating to watch, particularly at slow speeds.

To assist the beginner the book “Building The Stuart Beam” is available. It describes in detail the machining of all the components, and is full of advice for the more challenging operations.
