Stuart Models are proud to announce the release of Iver, the first in a range of radio controlled live steam garden railway locomotives in 32 mm & 45 mm gauge.
The Iver originates from the well respected Cheddar Models range which we took over in 2005. In order to fully understand the intricacies of garden railway engines we started as Cheddar did by producing the Iver, which was their first locomotive.
The Cheddar Models range of locomotives have always had an unparalleled reputation for engineering and reliability and we have continued to use the same high quality suppliers and materials.
We felt the overall appearance of the original model left 'room for improvement' and decided to amongst other things paint the buffer beams, line the cabs and paint and line the boiler bands. It was also decided this first batch would be offered in Black, BR Green and LNER Green in both 32 mm and 45 mm gauge.
During construction each model was tested on compressed air at a number of stages, before being steamed from an auxiliary boiler and run a rolling road.
Each Iver is supplied complete with a Futaba radio control system as standard. The hydraulically tested boiler is fitted with a pressure gauge, water level sight glass and spring safety valve, with heat provided by a ceramic gas burner run from a refillable gas tank.
Every model is packaged with a supply of steam oil and a high grade 'bearing oil' for the moving parts. This means asides from the water and gas everything your need to run your locomotive is supplied in the box.
