Description
The James Coombes is based on a table engine reputed to have worked for more than a century at a Bristol colliery. The original engine developed approximately 20 horsepower at 60 psi running at 40 r.p.m. This model is scaled down one inch to the foot (1:12).
To assist the beginner the book “Building The James Coombes” is available. It describes in detail the machining of all the components, and is full of advice for the more challenging operations.
